Wifi syncing Macbook to iPad/iPhone returns NSPOSIXErrorDomain Code 60 Operation Timed out
I am running 1Password 6.8.1 (latest version) on a Macbook Air running OS 10.11.6 (El Capitan). I am trying to sync via WLAN to 1Password on both my iPad 2 (iOS 9.3.5 and 16 gig, with version 6.8.2 of 1Password) and my iPhone 5S (iOS version 10.3.3 and 16 gig, with version 6.8.2 of 1Password).
I connected using WLAN server with no issues - the iPad and the iPhone were both able to find my Macbook with no problem. However, both timed out shortly after connecting. The iPad just returned the message: Error Domain= NSPOSIXErrorDomain Code=60 "Operation timed out". The iPhone return a longer message: Error Domain= NSPOSIXErrorDomain Code=60 "Operation timed out" UserInfo={_kCFStreamErrorCodeKey=60,_kCFStreamErrorDomainKey=1}.
Before successfully connecting, I had reviewed the help information on WLAN servers because I was not able to connect. I had tried everything in the help (rebooting the router, turning off and on the WiFi on all devices, renewing the DCHP leases, etc.). The connection problem was a user error problem, which was resolved when I figured out that I was was opening 1Password on my Macbook in the wrong order (needed to open it after I opened the syncing on the iPad or iPhone). So I am able to connect the Macbook to both the iPad and the iPhone, and start the sync via WLAN server, but the sync times out.

@ebadelman123: The timeout means that no response is received. Something is blocking the connection between your devices. Definitely go through everything in this guide, as it may be firewall, router, or security settings that are interfering:
If you’re having trouble using the WLAN server
Were you syncing via WLAN server previously? You may want to try other sync options if your network environment isn't conducive to this method.

I was able to sync via WLAN the last time I tried syncing almost a year ago and it worked fine then. Now WLAN isn't working at all, and I tried all the things in the guide with no success. I even tried updating 1Password to version 6.8.2 on my Mac, version 6.9 on my iOS devices, and that didn't help (same error message).
What did work finally is using iCloud, which I really didn't want to use, but apparently I have no choice but to use iCloud for syncing. Thank you for your help.

@ebadelman123: Have you changed something in your setup? WLAN server works between a single computer and one or more mobile devices, so if you change the computer they'll still be looking for the old one. Unfortunately syncing via Wi-Fi can be tough to deal with otherwise since it depends so heavily on everything in your network environment being setup correctly, but iCloud (and Dropbox) simply need an internet connection. If it helps, your 1Password data is end-to-end encrypted, so 1Password simply doesn't depend on the sync service to protect your data. 1Password is secure by design, not by chance. Glad to hear that's working for you at least, but be sure to let us know if you need anything else. :)
