My Pro features have been locked. Restore Purchase does not work. I am told to use that Apple ID I used when I punched.
I have to Apple ID and am logged in to the app store with that ID I used when purchased .
What shall I do to lock up pro features?

  • Hi @boben,

Sorry to hear about the trouble. For 1Password to unlock the Pro features you must be signed into the exact same Apple ID that you used to purchase the Pro features at the time 1Password is installed. If you were signed into a different Apple ID at that time, or you restore your device from a backup, you may need to uninstall/reinstall 1Password while signed into the correct ID.

Please note that uninstalling 1Password for iOS also removes all 1Password data from the device. We’d recommend backing up and/or syncing your data to avoid losing it when uninstalling:

    I hope that helps!

I bought the Pro features for my iPad long ago, and it is working fine on my iPad. My wife's and my iPad are members of the same family. We cannot restore the purchase on my wife's iPad. Do we need to purchase te Pro features twice?

@phunsoft - Hey Peter! Yes, in-app purchases are not shareable via Apple's Family Sharing program. If your wife wants the Pro features of 1Password for iOS, she will need to make the in-app purchase with her own Apple ID.

    Hi Lars,
Thanks. I'm happy to pay for software, but I do not subscribe for software. Will the "Pro features" purchase stay a one time charge feature, or will we soon be forced to subsrcibe 1Password? I'm asking, because we found quite some comments that can be interpreted that way. We only ever synch with 1Password on the PC via WLAN.
    Regards
    Peter

@phunsoft - you can find quite a lot of comments on the internet saying just about anything. When it comes to the future of 1Password, I would recommend sticking with what you hear from us, the developers, rather than internet speculation. :)

To answer your question, you will not be "forced to subscribe" in the sense that no one will be required to create or pay for a 1password.com account. We're going to be unapologetic in making it clear that we believe that's far and away the best way to use 1Password for the vast majority of users, but we have no plans to be forcing anyone into a subscription. In fact, in a recent blog post in which we discussed the upcoming 1Password 7, we specifically committed to keeping standalone vaults and individual purchases as part of 1Password.

    Lars,

You answered "I would recommend sticking with what you hear from us, the developers, rather than internet speculation."

That's exactly the reason I asked the question in this discussion. Glad to read your answer.

Thanks and have a great day.

Hi, i already have the Pro features on iOS, do i need also a monthly/yearly subscription to access my account on Mac/windows?!

Welcome to the forum, @azzi - to answer your question in the most direct way, your purchase of Pro features of 1Password for iOS does not allow you to use 1Password on other platforms like Mac or Windows.

To give a more complete answer, there are two ways to purchase and use 1Password. The first is as a standalone app, in which case you purchase a license for the platform(s) on which you'd like to use 1Password. You've already purchased the Pro features for iOS, which unlocks all of 1Password's capabilities on as many iOS devices as you own use. If you'd like to use 1Password on a Mac, however, you would need to purchase a license for that platform as well.

The second - and considerably easier and more flexible - way to use 1Password is through a 1Password membership. For a monthly or annual subscription fee, you get unlimited access to all four of our native applications (Windows, Mac, iOS and Android), as well as the 1password.com service itself, which acts as your data host and sync provider.

@azzi - no worries, happy to clarify! You're quite correct, the pro features page in your screenshot does indeed say you can access all vaults you created in other versions of 1Password. Without the Pro features of 1Password for iOS, it's only possible to have a single vault -- but with the Pro features unlocked, you're able to sync multiple vaults created on any other instance of 1Password, if you have such a thing. Many people only have (or need) a single vault, but for people who have the desire or need for more than one, a purchase of the Pro features of 1Password for iOS allows you the same multiple-vault capability that owners of the more full-featured desktop version(s) of 1Password for Mac and 1Password for Windows already have.

Well, to be honest, it’s quite misleading, i think you should at least offer the pro feature after the subscription,
    Thanks for your time @Lars

@azzi - I'm sorry you felt misled; that certainly wasn't our intention -- we try to make all facets of 1Password, including purchasing, as transparent as we can.

To be clear, if you have a subscription, you don't need the Pro features; they are included as part of the monthly or annual subscription cost. If you're interested in a subscription but feel like the money you've already spent on the Pro features for 1Password for iOS would be wasted, contact us at support+forum@agilebits.com and include both a link to this conversation as well as a copy of your purchase receipt for the Pro features, and we can give you a credit towards a 1Password account equal to the $9.99 you spent on the Pro features of 1Password for iOS.
