upgrading from free trial for Mac to Family, do I have to uninstall first?

I have the free trial for Mac but want to upgrade to the Family plan. If I have to delete the old version through the app story, what happens to my old passwords? Can I still access them? Can you step by step me through this? (I'm not very tech savey.)

@larry_wenzel: There's no need to delete the app at all. You'll be using the same one, just with your new account instead of a local vault. You can follow this guide to migrate your data, and you'll be all set:
