iOS 9.0.2 iPhone 1PW 6.4.5 / MAC Dropbox syncing problem
Hi,
I am on iOS 9.0.2 and running the most recent 1Password Rel for iOS 9.0.2 (6.4.5).
I can sync between my Macs via Dropbox without a problem.
I also can sync between iOS 1Password and MAC 1Password (Rel 6.8.2) via WiFi Server.
When I try to sync via Dropbox I get an error "Error Listing Keychains". On my Dropbox iOS App I do see 1Password.agilekeychain file. 1 Password iOS is also authorised to read Dropbox iOS.
I tried to delete all iOS 1Password data (reset to stock) and reinstalling the iOS app and relinked to dropbox without success.
I also tried to sync to iCloud; here I get "Looking up iCloud information" and the app gets irresponsible.
I am getting the feeling that iOS Rel 6.4.5 and MAC Rel 6.8.2) are not compatible.
Any idea?

If this is the case is there any MAC Rel 6.x.x which is still compatible that I keep my syncing?
Any idea?

Thanks for writing in. The problem is actually with Dropbox, they discontinued their original interface for syncing which is what 1Password 6.4.5 for iOS supports. You will need to update to 1Password 6.7 or newer to continue using Dropbox for sync.

Thanks for coming back to my issue.
-Dropbox:
I can not update 1Password to 6.7 as 6.7 can't be installed on iOS 9.0.2.
Any idea? What about if I downgrade Dropbox on my iOS device. Which rel will work?

what about the iCloud sync. The 1Password 6.4.5 freezes while trying to sync.Thank you for your support.

I just tried to sync with a very old Dropbox rel (rel. 54.2.2). Does also not work.
Thanks0 -
Unfortunately the Dropbox change is a server side change that they've made. The only way forward that continues to use Dropbox for sync is to move to iOS 10 and 1Password 6.7 or newer. Alternatively you could switch to using iCloud for sync.

I believe your only way forward is going to be to use at least iOS 10, in that case.

I can not update to iOS 10 for some reason.
The syncing worked since about 3 weeks ago, my iOS 1Password hasn't changed since then nor has my Dropbox iOS App.
So your company must have changed something in the 1Password MAC osX App which broke the syncing.
Maybe you can undo these changes.
Thanks

@fregatte1P: The vast majority of devices running iOS 9 can be upgraded to iOS 10, so definitely look into it — not only for 1Password, but to receive the benefit of over a years' worth of fixes for security issues, for which iOS 9 remains vulnerable.

Nope. We haven't changed anything there and can't. On the desktop, 1Password does not sync data with either Dropbox or iCloud: the Dropbox app syncs data, and iCloud is built into the OS and syncs the data itself.
Can you tell me which (if any) errors you're experiencing now? If it's the ones you mentioned earlier, as Rudy mentioned, these are at Dropbox's end and we have no control over that. The only way for that to work is to update your software: OS, 1Password, and (on the desktop) Dropbox itself. Alternatively, you could use a 1Password.com membership, since it gives you access to all of the apps, the web interface, and does away with license management and sync configuration altogether — you simply login to your account to authorize a device and access your data. You can try it for free for 30 days to take advantage of all of its benefits. But at some point in the future, old versions of 1Password (which only run on old OS releases) will no longer be supported either, so it would be beneficial on many levels to stay up to date. I hope this helps. Be sure to let me know if you have any other questions.

thanks for detailing further.
Dropbox:
It really seems to be that Dropbox is the culprit but only on the iOS side.
Dropbox synching works between two MAC's, but not if one iOS device is engaged.
The error message is: "Error listing Keychains" and sometimes: "The operation couldn't b completed. (dropbox.com error 400).iCloud:
I finally managed to get iCloud syncing done (deleting iCloud 1PW data and rebuilding everything from scratch). So I am 90% happy!!
Thanks for your support.

Glad to hear you were able to find a solution. I’d still highly recommend upgrading to at least iOS 10. As brenty mentioned iOS 9 is no longer receiving security fixes.

In case it helps anyone else, the new Dropbox API seems to be going through some growing pains. For a while many of us were not able to get anything listed, even with many vaults there, when searching Dropbox. Moving the vault to another folder, letting Dropbox sync the change, and then moving it back again seems to "wake up" Dropbox so it knows where it is again though. Cheers! :)
