Dropbox authorization Fails on iPhone X with 1Password 7.0, but continues to sync on my iPad and MacBook Pro. This is a new iPhone X out of the box which restored all settings to it from my properly synching iPhone 6+. In fact, the iPhone 6+ continues to sync properly. Please advise. Thank you.

  • Hi @friedmanh,

Thanks for taking the time to write in.

Do you have the Dropbox app installed on your iPhone X? Is that able to authorize with Dropbox okay? If so have you tried setting up 1Password’s sync with Dropbox after setting up the Dropbox app?

    Please let us know.

Yes. The the dropbox app is installed on my iPhone X. As I wrote, this is a new iPhone X out of the box which I restored all settings to from my properly synching iPhone 6+ which also had dropbox app installed, but 1Password continually fails stating "Dropbox Auhorization Failed. It appears 1P is no longer authorized to connect to your Dropbox account. Tap Authorize to reconnect to Dropbox." Then it just keeps trying and failing and not allowing me to use 1P. Keep in mind that my iPhone 6+ continues to sync properly. Please advise. Thank you.

That is likely the problem. The iPhone X needs its own authorization with Dropbox. It can’t use the iPhone 6’s. Please make sure there is no 1Password data that hasn’t synced on the iPhone X that you’d like to keep (if there is, manually add it to one of your working devices), then uninstall and reinstall both the Dropbox app and the 1Password app.

    Thanks.

Problem solved. When the iPhone X restored my settings, it configured dropbox to log in to a different Dropbox account than the one used to sync 1Password. All I had to do was sign out of Dropbox and back into the correct Dropbox acct. Thank you.

  • Thanks for the update @friedmanh. Glad to hear you were able to come up with a solution for this. If we can be of further assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
