New keyboard extension fails to find login
Latest version of one password has an icon that shows up on keyboard when a login site is opened. It’s intended purpose seems to be to provide log in data. However with few exception when I tap the icon a one password it shows a search window with all my one password saved logins except for the one that I need. That one has disappeared. If I cancel out and open the one password iOS app directly then the needed login is easily found. The feature which would be very useful fails entirely.

Hey @waldhaus1! Thanks for reaching out. :)
I'm not quite sure what you're seeing here. We do have a custom keyboard on Android, but we don't have one on iOS, so I'm not sure how you would see a 1Password button in the keyboard on iOS.
Can you let me know a bit about your setup? What device are you using, what browser are you filling in, and what version of 1Password are you using? Thanks!

Interesting.
I just recently began seeing the new icon in the standard iOS keyboard and presumed it was 1Password's. In retrospect perhaps it is related to the Apple Keychain. I do save a smattering of passwords with it as well, albeit no really important ones. That probably explains why it has never been helpful.
Your answer implies that the only way for 1Password to offer that functionality would be with their own iOS keyboard and that makes sense as I think about it. It would be a welcome addition if it can be done in a way you consider secure.
Thanks for the prompt response.0 -
A 1Password keyboard on iOS would be great, except for the fact that iOS doesn’t allow custom/3rd party keyboards in password fields. :(
I suspect you’re correct in your assumption that what you’re seeing is the iCloud Keychain icon. :)
We do have an extension for Safari that if you’re not already using may be helpful:
Use the 1Password extension to fill in Safari and apps on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
