allow X extension Chrome or Firefox on Linux machine to access vault from older existing app/dropbox
I have had the app on my iPhone for several years, it"s data stored in Dropbox. Now I have installed the new X extension on Chrome and the extension in Firefox on a purely Linux (Mint 18.3) OS. I've done what was shown in the videos on the 1Password site, and it seems that the app on my phone now recognizes the (empty) vault from the new extension on laptop browsers. How, though, do I get it to work the other direction? to get the extentions to read the older existing vault, and cause the entire system to function as one seamless whole? I don't want more vaults, just one merged one. Thanks

@R_Atkison: Thanks for getting in touch! I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean here, so I'll start just by making sure we're on the same page with regard to the capabilities of 1Password X: it works only with 1Password.com accounts, so there is no facility for it to read or write local vaults, whether sync'd with a Dropbox folder on the computer, connecting to Dropbox directly, or just saved in any old folder. 1Password X is also a self-contained extension, so it can run entirely within Chrome. All you need to do is sign into a 1Password.com account to access the data there.
However, it sounds like you might not have a 1Password.com account. You may want to consider a 1Password.com membership, since it gives you access to all of the apps, the web interface, and does away with license management and sync configuration altogether — you simply login to your account to authorize a device and access your data.
