    @martinliss: Good question! Password items are used as a safety net, saved automatically in case you use a generated password but don't save it in a Login item:

    If you used the password generator and can’t find the password to sign in

    That way you don't get locked out of an account after changing your password there: when you fill the generated password using 1Password, a Password item is automatically created for it in your vault. I hope this helps. Be sure to let me know if you have any other questions! :)
