why does the password icon disappear and you have to enter the key before you can sign in?

I have downloaded the password 6 and every time I try to sign on, it ask for the key.
Why can't you just log in like before????this key thing is annoying

    If you mean the Secret Key, you won't have one unless you've signed up for a 1Password.com membership. If you'll let me know more about what you're doing, I'm sure that I can help. :)
