How do I manage store branded credit cards that are issued by same bank?

Many store branded credit cards are issued by same bank. Sometime they can be linked but many times they cannot be. How can I manage cards that all link to same sign in web address? Cixx seems to be most difficult

@upnorthwi: I'll be honest, I'm not sure I quite follow what you're trying to do, but maybe an example from my own use can help:

I've got a few accounts with Chase myself, which are separate cards that I have saved in 1Password as Credit Card items for filling payment information on websites, and then I have a Login item saved for Chase which I use to sign into their websites. All of my personal accounts are managed through a single set of login credentials.

However, I've also got business accounts through Chase, which is another set of Credit Card items and a Login for filling.

I haven't encountered banks that force you to use a completely separate website or set of login credentials for each account, but if that's your situation, it's no different than having accounts with multiple banks: you save a Login for each to use when signing into their website, and then a Credit Card item for each one to use for filling payment details.

If you have to sign into multiple sites with the same credentials, you can always add multiple URLs to a single login item. Just make sure you use unique login credentials where you can, so you're not reusing passwords.

And personally, I find it helpful to use tags to group similar items in 1Password. For instance, tagging different logins with a credit card name makes it easier for me to update my payment information when they send me a new card.

Anyway, I hope this helps a bit. Be sure to let me know if you have any other questions! :)

I have several cards that go through citi and I tried to tag them but I cannot seem to get the to work. Generally I use an iPad to manage the accounts but when I look for tagged items I cannot find them. Is there a suggested method to setup logins in 1Password to help prevent this? Do you recommend turning off auto complete and or keychain in iOS when using 1Password?

@upnorthwi: To be clear, tags don't actually do anything; rather, they're an organizational tool for grouping items. For example, in 1Password for iOS, if you go to the Organize tab, you can see a list of tags you have in use for items there. I use that to select the tag with a credit card name so I can see all items I've applied that tag to, which makes it easy to see a list of the things that are currently billed to that account at a glance. But this is just one way of using tags. They're pretty flexible, so if that isn't useful for your workflow you can use them in another way that is.

Can you be more specific about what you're trying to do?

Yes, we recommend disabling autofill and saving in Safari (though not disabling iCloud Keychain completely, since that's useful for a lot of things, like Wi-Fi networks and app passwords) since having both the browser and 1Password trying to fill can cause some issues. Personally though, I like having it disabled because otherwise I get confused about what is saved where, and it's nearly impossible for me to export or access this information on non-Apple devices. If I know it's all in 1Password, I always know where to look, and it's available to me across all of my devices.
