Standalone 1Password App is not opening in my MAC

I'm a long-time user of 1Password, but I am having some trouble recently.
This is the message I'm getting when I click on the 1Password icon in my MAC:
"1Password failed to connect to 1Password mini
Please quit 1Password and start it again."
Unfortunately, I tried it again, even after rebooting the computer, and no luck.

I'm also interested in migrating to the membership account, can you help me with that?
Do I need to fix this problem with the app on MAC first? My app on Iphone is working fine (and now it's ithe only device with all passwords fully updated). I'm not sure which version I have installed, is there a way to check?
