Getting draft post into category

I have a draft I want to post in Families, but I can't because I don't have a category selected and the only category listed (Families) is grayed out.

How can I post the draft?

I’m not sure I follow. Where are you seeing a listing with only Families listed? Here is what I see:

I suppose if something truly has gone wonky you could start a new thread in the Families category:

And copy & paste from your draft there. Does that help?
