unable to update 1Password from 6.8 to 6.8.6 Mac

i try to update 1Password (which i haven't used for some time) from 6.8 to 6.8.6, but the update seems to not happen.
after selecting "Check for Updates" from the menu, then clicking the "Download Update" button the download starts and then finishes with this screen picture in the attachment (see 1Password_UpdateIssue.png). after clicking the "Update and Relaunch" it seems that the download starts and finishes smoothly but the process goes back to screen shown in the picture above.
what is happening? any ideas?
