Has anyone taken a look at changes Apple made to Family Sharing? I am still uncertain about Sharing purchases like the 1Password Pro features?

https://support.apple.com/en-sg/HT201088

"To accept an invitation, follow the onscreen instructions. When you join a family, you might be asked to confirm your account information and to opt-in to any features or services your family set up.

If you can't accept the invitation, see if someone else joined a family with your Apple ID or is sharing purchased content from your Apple ID. Remember, you can only join one family at a time, and you can only switch to a different family group once per year."

Reading further, In App purchases still cannot be shared, but now that 1Password for iOS can be subscription based, can the In App purchases be shared if I am getting the Pro features from 1Password.com?

    @wkleem,

    1Password.com accounts have always included the Pro features, regardless of how you pay for your subscription. If you are signed into a 1Password.com account that is in good standing the Pro features are unlocked. :)

    The in-app purchase itself is still not shared, but that doesn’t really matter. The reason this works is that there are two paths to unlocking the Pro features: the in-app purchase, or an active 1Password.com account.

    Thank you Ben. Subscription does make some sense but some don’t like the idea. I suppose it is like bleeding slowly as more companies get in on the subscription bandwagon. Anti virus software et al.

  • Some people don’t like tacos either, but those people are wrong. ;)

    We truly believe that 1Password.com is going to offer the best experience for the vast majority of customers, and that service can only be offered as a subscription. We feel we’ve priced the service at a level that makes the cost commensurate with the value that it provides. At the end of the day we need to charge at a price point that will allow us to continue to provide a high level of quality in software and service, so we may not be able to meet everyone’s demands in this regard. Admittedly we think of 1Password as a premium service, and the price reflects that. We feel the quality does as well. :) Everyone has a different definition of the value of $1 though, so it is up to customers to decide if they agree or not.
