Opera extension isn't working

The Opera extension has suddenly stopped working. It's grayed out on the toolbar. When I reach 1pass min, it shows me the option "Add Opera extension", as if it was not installed. I've tried to uninstall, downloaded the extension again, but still not working.

1Password Version: 6.8.7
Extension Version: 4.6.12.90
OS Version: 10.13.3
Sync Type: Dropbox

Welcome to the forum, @mjusten! I just tried the same thing here, and it appears to be working just fine, so I'm wondering if perhaps a restart of your Mac might be in order as the next step. Please uninstall 1Password's Opera extension, restart your Mac, then relaunch Opera and re-install the extension from our extensions page. You'll have to click to allow it, and you'll need to actually click on the extension itself (as the Opera prompts indicate), but you should be able to do this just as I was. Let me know how that goes for you.

I am also having this problem, all of a sudden. I have restarted Opera. Uninstalled the Opera extension, restarted the machine, launched Opera. Now I can't even get the extension to download. I keep clicking on the "click here to start the download" link and nothing ever happens. I need 1Password access in Opera. Please help.

Apologies, I didn't realise the extension had been installed behind the scenes. It is indeed there, and I just clicked the button to Enable it. But the problem is still happening. I click on the 1Password Mini icon in my Opera toolbar and nothing happens, it just goes grey. Please help.

By the way, I'm running Opera 53.0.2907.68 on Mac OS X 10.11.6 and 1Password Mini 4.7.1.90 is what was downloaded and installed today. Any help gratefully received, I really need this to work.

    Hi @skiaddict1,

You likely have 1Password 6.8.8 and you need 1Password 6.8.9 for Opera 53.

Starting with Opera 53, Opera is being signed with a new certificate, one not known to 1Password 6.8.8 and earlier. It requires an updated version of 1Password and 6.8.9 contains the details required to verify Opera 53 and any future versions signed by the new certificate. Can you try the following for me please.

If you're running the 1Password AgileBits Store version from our site you will have a menu option 1Password 6 > Check for Updates... and it will prompt you to update to 1Password 6.8.9.

If you're running the Mac App Store version it might be a bit more complicated due to the release of 1Password 7. If in the App Store application there isn't a pending 1Password 6.8.9 update in the Updates tab can you try the following for me please.

    1. Ensure you have a note of your Apple ID password.
    2. Quit 1Password using the keyboard shortcut ⌃⌥⌘Q from the main window.
    3. Drag the 1Password application bundle from your /Applications/ folder to the Trash.
    4. In the App Store application switch to the Purchased tab.
    5. Download a fresh copy of 1Password. This is where you might need your Apple ID password as you may need to re-authenticate.
    6. Launch the fresh copy of 1Password currently in your /Applications/ folder.
    7. Restart Opera if it doesn't start working immediately.

That should see you running 1Password 6.8.9 and a working extension in Opera 53.
