Accessing 1Password Without Using Browser Extension (App) - Reality Check
I am currently working off line with tech support on an issue. As a general matter I would like to ask if it should be possible to access one's subscription account with a friend's iOS device. That is, without the browser extension or app installed. I can do this with Windows devices but not any Apple devices. I continue to interact with your tech staff but thought I'd just ask the obvious, since I have been assuming the answer is yes. Thx

@roar714: Thanks for reaching out. I’ll see what I can do to help!

Two answers, both equally important: yes you can sign into your account on pretty much any device; but no we don't recommend doing this. If you trust your friend and want to do that temporarily on a non-jailbroken iOS device, deleting the 1Password app completely afterward and not letting them know your credentials, you should be okay. Just keep in mind that any time you access sensitive information on an device you don't control, you're taking a risk.

Sure thing! Just to be clear, the 1Password browser extensions aren't used at all on mobile devices, only on the desktop. So you'd either have to use the 1Password app, or the web browser to sign into your account on the 1Password.com website. I hope this helps. Be sure to let me know if you have any other questions! :)

OK. The core question is should you be able to access your 1Password account directly on AgileBits servers not using the 1Password app on an iPhone not your own. It is a technical functionality question. Sort of like accessing email on your isp servers and not through your Outlook app.
Your first answer above seems to suggest you do need to first load the 1Password app [“ ... deleting the 1Password app completely afterward ...”]. Your second comment suggests you have a choice of installing (then deleting) the app on another iOS device or directly accessing your account using a browser on that device. My question springs from emergency planning for the event you lose your iPhone while traveling and need to use a non personal substitute. I get the security concerns you raise. The reason I’m even asking the question is that I’m currently unable to access my 1Password account on the web (I.e., not through the app) from any of my personal iOS devices. But as I said, I’m working with staff there to resolve this issue.

@roar714 - you should be able to access your 1password.com account in any major browser on any platform, though functionality may differ somewhat if the device is a mobile device.
I see you've already been working extensively with our email support team as well; let's keep this conversation going over there, as it will reduce confusion and the need to coordinate replies across multiple points of contact, which slows down support times for everyone, including you. Thanks! :)
