1PW on iPhone not working as expected

I'm experiencing two problems:

  • When I get to a site in Safari that requires me to create an account that doesn't already exist, it doesn't appear that 1PW wants to cooperate. If I manually create a new login for that site, neither the username nor the password are saved in 1PW.s If there's a way to do that, I don't know how.
  • If I need to change the password for a site that's already saved as a login in my iOS app version of 1PW, I don't get a prompt like I do on my desktop asking if I want to save the password as a new password or to update an existing password. In fact, 1PW doesn't save the new password at all. Again, if there's a way to do that, I need instructions on how to do that.

I love 1PW on my Mac and use it effortlessly nearly every day. If it only worked as well on my iPhone, I'd be ecstatic.

  • Hi @TigerMO,

Extensions on iOS don’t work the same way as the do on Mac, and are a fair bit more limited. The steps to accomplish both of the tasks you’ve outlined are available in this guide:

Use the 1Password extension to fill in Safari and apps on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

With changing a password, you have two options. You could either save a new login item, or you could edit the existing login item to reflect the new password (bonus points if you use the password generator to generate new passwords). Hopefully extension support on iOS will continue to improve and we’ll be able to do more within Safari in the future. I hope that helps!

    Ben
