1pw on iphone won't add my second account of my company

Filled it manually, then figured out how to do it scanning OCR code (please add a hint in the section "adding an account" in your help system!).
1pw says "1Password - Konto kann nicht hinzugefügt werden" on red background. Although i get a mail, that i logged in with my iphone...
Some likely useful background information:
After initial install i logged in wit the owner account of my my company (that i myself created as well, as i'm the responsible person for 1password in my company). Now trying to add my secon (personal) account leads to above described result.

@bhutzler: Thanks for getting in touch! You can always add an additional 1Password.com account by signing in under 1Password for iOS Settings > Accounts:

    https://support.1password.com/add-account/

And thank you for the suggestion about the Setup Code. We have some documentation on this already:

    https://support.1password.com/secret-key/

But we always welcome feedback. Cheers! :)

    Thank you for responding.
    1. Well following your first link i cannot find anything about IOS Settings mentioned. All i find there and what is exactly what i did and what doesn't work is this:

To add your account to 1Password for iOS:

    Open and unlock 1Password.
    Tap Settings.
    Tap 1Password Accounts.
    Tap Add Existing Account.
Tap Scan Account Details if you have your Setup Code available. Otherwise enter your account details.
Enter your Master Password and tap “Sign in”.

    1. Following your second link, i have to state that at least the german translation here is not correct. Please review...

    regards
    Bert

@bhutzler: Sorry for the confusion. When you visit our support site, instructions will be shown, by default, for the platform you're viewing it on. For example, I'm on a Mac right now, so it shows instructions for that automatically, but I can click the icon for another platform, like iOS, to show that instead:

All i find there and what is exactly what i did and what doesn't work is this:

    Open and unlock 1Password.

Ah, I think I understand what you mean now. Are you trying to add multiple accounts from the same team or family? If so, that's not possible. 1Password isn't a multi-user app. You can, however, sign into a different account in your web browser. Does that help?

    1. Following your second link, i have to state that at least the german translation here is not correct. Please review...

We have multiple Germans, but perhaps something has been overlooked. Can you be specific? Is there a typo of some kind? If I review it myself, it will probably not improve. Thanks! :)

    1. Hm, that's a pity... ...any plans to improve that?
    2. As i just said: go to your second link choose german and you will be there:
      https://support.1password.com/de/secret-key/
And here under "Falls Sie Ihr Konto zur 1Password-App hinzugefügt haben" in the third(last) point the hint where to find the OCR is just missing.

@bhutzler: I think it is generally pretty helpful that the guide default to the platform you're viewing them on. But if you meant signing into multiple users on the same plan in the app, I'm not sure that's a good idea. It's something we can consider, but it's a usability and privacy problem:

    • What happens when the users have access to the same vault?
    • How does the second user unlock the app when the Master Password of the first is required?
    • And then of course both users will have access to each other's Personal/Private vaults as well as any others that are shared with one of them.

It's not something that many have asked for because 1Password is generally used as a personal repository of secure, private data, not by a group within a single user setting on the same device.

As i just said: go to your second link choose german and you will be there:
    https://support.1password.com/de/secret-key/

You didn't say that, only that it was "not correct", so thank you for telling me. We'll get it updated. Cheers! :chuffed:

well, ok, i meant where to find it, but as you stated, not what's wrong exactly, that's right... ...hm wrong right...?!? ;)

regarding the first issue i admit that this might be a special situation that i'm in. of course here it's no problem to have access to the other users faults, as i created both and the owner user anyway has access to everything, but... ...ok that's special... i can live with it.

    Thanks for caring
    Cheerio ;)

Likewise, thanks for your feedback on 1Password and our documentation! I'm sorry I don't have better news for your specific use case, but indeed it is a bit special. Nothing wrong with that, and always interesting to hear about how different people use 1Password! :)

btw, the german help is still wrong. regarding second and third item there's no gear symbol in the windows app. there's just "settings" in the "1password" menu, but in "settings" there's no "accounts & vaults"...
What should be written here is:
    2. Öffnen Sie das Menü "Accounts" und wählen Sie dort Ihr Konto.
    3. Wählen Sie dort secret key > copy um ihn zu kopieren. Oder wählen Sie "Setup other device", um einen OCR Code anzuzeigen, den sie mit dem anderen Gerät einscannen können.

  • Thanks, @bhutzler. I’ll pass that along to my German speaking colleague and see if he can get that sorted.

    Ben
