Hi, 1password Mini in Firefox 59 on OSX 10.13.3 crashes endlessly. I found these logs in the Console app that repeat every few seconds:

<NSXPCConnection: 0x7f89fa57c540> connection from pid 60104: Warning: Exception caught during invocation of received message, dropping incoming message and invalidating the connection. Exception: *** -[__NSCFString stringByAppendingString:]: nil argument *** -[__NSCFString stringByAppendingString:]: nil argument ( 0 CoreFoundation 0x00007fff544c1fcb __exceptionPreprocess + 171 1 libobjc.A.dylib 0x00007fff7b15fc76 objc_exception_throw + 48 2 CoreFoundation 0x00007fff545539ed +[NSException raise:format:] + 205 3 Foundation 0x00007fff5651a2b0 -[NSString stringByAppendingString:] + 104 4 2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits.onepassword4-helper 0x000000010f51046b 2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits.onepassword4-helper + 910443 5 2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits.onepassword4-helper 0x000000010f50f0b3 2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits.onepassword4-helper + 905395 6 Foundation 0x00007fff567d45af __NSXPCCONNECTION_IS_CALLING_OUT_TO_EXPORTED_OBJECT_S2__ + 12 7 Foundation 0x00007fff567d2d7c -[NSXPCConnection _deco<…>

I've tried reinstalling the extension multiple times, restarting my browser and computer, nothing has fixed this issue. Any tips or ideas? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum, @rdoherty! Sorry for the trouble. I'm using Firefox 59.0.2 with 1Password 6.8.8 for Mac and extension version 4.7.0.90, and not having any of the issues you're having. That means I don't think it's likely this is anything wrong overall with 1Password -- but it certainly doesn't mean there's nothing wrong with your installation. Did you submit the crash report (not to Apple, to us) when this crash occurred? If so, did you include your email address (matching the one you used to register for this forum)? With that, we'll be able to look it up and get a much better idea of what might have happened.

If you didn't do that, it's going to be impossible for us to tell just from the above what might be wrong. Would you be willing to submit the crash report and let us know? Thanks.

H Lars, happy to create a crash report. How do I do this? When 1password mini crashes, I don't get any notifications or windows popping up, all I see is the icon in Firefox changing from normal to greyed out. Thanks!

@rdoherty: That sounds like there isn't a crash happening then. If there was, macOS would prompt you to send it when you reopen 1Password. Rather, the crash appears to be with Firefox's Native Messaging Host. Have you tried installing a fresh copy of Firefox, and creating a new profile there?

Brenty: Ok, I'll try reinstalling Firefox. FWIW this was working a version or two ago of Firefox. Not sure exactly when this started. Thanks!
