I have purchased 1Password 4 years ago and have never logged in. How do I get my secret key?
Hey there,
I've tried everything here: https://support.1password.com/trial-expired/#if-you-purchased-1password-from-the-agilebits-store
and here: https://support.1password.com/secret-key/
but apparently I never logged into my account. When I click on "Click here to Apply Your 1Password License" in that email I got, nothing happens:
Can someone advise what to do in this case?
Thanks a lot,
Rupert

Hi @rupert,
This is a standalone license for 1Password 6 for Mac. With that there is no account to log in to. When we talk about 1Password accounts we’re talking about 1Password subscription memberships, which is different from licensing one of the apps.
You can download 1Password 6 for Mac here:
https://1password.com/downloads/
Once you’ve downloaded and opened it you’ll be able to add your license to it. You’ll want to select the option to create a standalone vault once you do. :)
I hope that helps!

Thanks Ben. I'm using 1Password for Mac for years and am using version 6 at the moment. How exactly do I add my account? It seems that I then need the 'secret key' again. Where do I get this damn key? haha
When I try to login, it asks me for account details (see screenshot attached)
Thanks for your help!

@rupert: As Ben already mentioned, you will only have an account if you've signed up for a 1Password.com membership. That’s the only way you’ll have a Secret Key or Sign In URL, or be able to access your data through 1Password.com. Instead, you can use 1Password without an account and sync your data from another device or create a new vault. I've resent your license information via email, so just follow the instructions there to register the app.

You’re welcome. :) If you are interested in checking out the benefits of having a 1Password account vs what you have now please see this guide:

You can learn about how to migrate, if you choose to do so, here:
Move your existing 1Password data to a 1Password account
I hope that helps!
