1password.com Subscription and Vaults
I have been thinking about upgrading to the subscription model but had a question about vaults and sync handling.
Is it possible for me to keep my existing vault (Local) as well as use the 1password.com (online vault)?
Here is what I would ideally like to do:
- Keep my more sensitive information on my Local vault that is synced via dropbox
- Move the remaining information to the online 1password.com Sync
- Have the ability to choose which vault to use when creating new passwords in the future. (Dropbox vs 1password.com)
Thank you

Hi @Umer,

You could, yes.
Keep my more sensitive information on my Local vault that is synced via dropbox
Would you mind explaining the thought process here? I think there may be a disconnect as this doesn’t make sense to me. :)
Move the remaining information to the online 1password.com Sync
Have the ability to choose which vault to use when creating new passwords in the future. (Dropbox vs 1password.com)That is technically possible, yes.

Thank you for the reply.
My though process here is to be more in control of my vaults from a security perspective. Although I am sure that 1password uses the latest encryption methods out there I feel more comfortable being in control of some of my data.
For the data I deem super sensitive, I wanted to use an alternate method to store/sync the vault.
Thank you

By storing it with a 3rd party data storage provider, instead of a 1st party tailor built solution? :) I think you may want to reconsider. Don’t get me wrong — Dropbox was the recommended solution for storing 1Password data for many years. But there is a better option now.
