WLAN sync Mac to Android - sync error

I"ve been using WLAN to sync between my Mac and iPhone for several years now. I have just got an Android phone (running Android v7) and get as far as entering the 'secret' to start a first sync with my Mac. However, after I press the "continue" button (which then gets greyed-out) nothing happens for a few minutes and I eventually get a message saying "There was a temporary connection problem during sync. Please check the connection on both devices and try again.". The phone and the Mac are both connected to the same wifi network without any problems, and I can still sync the iPhone with the Mac using WLAN. I've followed the steps in the WLAN server troubleshooting guide but without any luck (I wasn't able to try a direct connection because my phone doesn't recognise the network created by the Mac, for some reason).

Has anyone any suggestions?

  • Hey @haydnw. Thanks for reaching out!

Can you try this? On your Mac, click on the WLAN secret and generate a new one. If you do that, are you able to sync on Android after entering the new secret?
