Opera 53 (Mac): 1Password can't verify the identity of your web browser
On the 10th of May the Opera dev team released the stable version of Opera 53. This is a significant version due to a change in their signing certificate. Opera 52 and earlier used a different certificate and one known to 1Password 6 for Mac. 1Password 6 for Mac maintains a list of certificates hardcoded inside of it and so starting with Opera 53 the most current version of 1Password 6 for Mac, version 6.8.8 cannot verify the identity of Opera and will refuse the 1Password Opera extension from connecting.
I fully appreciate how personal a user's browser preference is and I apologise for the disruption to those of you that are Opera fans. 1Password 6 for Mac will still allow you to use 1Password with the current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Vivaldi and Brave.

Hi folks. I have some very promising news to share. Development is going to be working on 1Password v6.8.9 which will have the updated code signature for Opera. I can’t say when it’ll be available, but it is on the map.
Thanks!
Ben
