Can't update old laptop 1 PW

I have 1 PW 6 on my current Macbook Pro, I can't get my older macbook to update 1PW 6 (asking for old P/W) ... any ideas?

1Password Version: 6.0
Extension Version: 6.8.8
OS Version: OS 10.13.4
Sync Type: Dropbox

    @kgriffinsales: 1Password does not require your Master Password to update the app, only to unlock and access the data. You seem to be running a very old (two years plus) version of 1Password though, so I wonder if that's causing you some confusion. please do the following:

    1. Do a Spotlight search for "1Password"
    2. Drag any copies you find to the Trash — DO NOT use a "cleaner" app!
    3. Restart your Mac
    4. Install the latest version of 1Password: https://1password.com/downloads/
