Install of 1P7 from macOS app store fails, "1P7 cannot be open during installation..."

I succeeded to install 1P7 from the macOS app store on 2 of my computers but when I tried to install the store version on the machine that ran the 1P7 beta I get the above and attached error message. I checked and the only 1P7 instance running is the app store install and when I cancel that one the install dies. Pushing Continue produces that same error message in a circle. How should I proceed?

  • @manniko,

You will need to go into the beta and choose "quit completely" from either the menubar icon or hold down command+opt+control while clicking on the 1Password menu to reveal the "Quit Completely" menu option.

Thank you very much for the quick answer. In the meantime I found out that the installation worked after I deleted the beta version. However, the beta app was located in my personal application folder (˜/Applications) so that I didn't find it immediately. Everything is ok now.

  • @manniko,

That's good to hear, let us know if you have any other questions. :) :+1:
