Family Recovery - All passwords gone

Hello everybody,

I just had to recover an account from a family member - sadly all passwords are gone after the recovery. Is there a possibility to get them back or did I make a mistake?

Thank you in advance
Andi

Addendum: It is not possible to enter the new Master Password in the iPhone App (I guess that‘s where the passwords are stored).

    Thank you

  • Hi @andi_k

It sounds like, unfortunately, this family member did not complete the migration process and move their data to a membership-based vault. Instead their data is in the “Primary” (standalone) vault on the iPhone. There is no recovery process for standalone vaults. The best I could suggest would be the steps offered in this guide:

If you forgot your Master Password or you can't unlock 1Password

Ultimately if none of that is helpful they can erase the 1Password app from the iPhone and reinstall it, which will erase the Primary vault (and all data contained within). They’ll then be able to sign in using their recovered 1Password Families account and any new data they save will by default saved into the membership-based “Private” / “Personal” vault.

    I hope that helps.

Thank you for your comment -- even if it means that the data is lost.
