Ordering + Accessibility Improvements

Hello!

I really love the 1password browser site. It allows me to use 1password at home, at work and at friends seamlessly without installing anything.

I've used it for years but I do have some major gripes that are making me look into alternatives :( I think they are super simple things to implement so here they are:

Ordering of fields:

  • Please add "Ordering", the ability to drag a field up or down. Picture this:
    • Section: Server Passwords
    • Field (User1): Password
    • Field (User2): Password
    • Url: url to server

Now if I want to add another user+password, it has to go under the "Url" field. I can't keep things tidy and group them together... I would have to delete existing entries, add the new one, and re-add the deleted stuff. It's such an annoyance.

Contrast

I like the minimal design but it means everything just blends together and it becomes very difficult to read when you have a lot of information. I have several infrastructures containing nodes of micro-services, I store information about these in a single entry because it is easier than creating lots and lots of entries and having to click every time (when i have 4-5 SSH panels open, it's frustrating to have 4-5 entries, so i keep it all in 1).

With 10 headings, and 5-8 bits of information in each one it's just 1 giant list, not helping that i can't order them it all just blends. Could some contrast accessibility options be added? Make the headings a different colour, or add some separators so it's very easy to know when 1 section ends and another begins.

I tried the PasswordX plugin but it's very to small and unwieldily when I am wanting to use the password manages for server stuff and not web pages...

Minor bug

This one is small but a bit annoying. When you create a new field you cannot change its type until you click away from the box, so the process is:

  1. Type something into "New Field"
  2. Click off New Field
  3. the 3 dots appear so you can now change the New field type, so I click password
  4. I then have to go edit the field again to generate a new password.

Why can't the 3 dots always be visible? Why do i have to type something in and click off the new field for the 3 dots to appear?

Thank you and great product!!

  • Hey @viion, thank you so much for the great feedback! Let me try to address each of the points you mentioned.

    Ordering of fields
Yes! I completely agree - I would love to see this as well. I can't make any promises on when something like this might happen, but I agree it would be great.

    Contrast
Interesting, I never really noticed how little contrast there is between the section headings and fields on the 1Password website when viewing an item. I agree - this could definitely be improved. Thanks for mentioning it.

    Bug
Thanks for pointing this out! I agree - that does feel like an unnecessary step.

If there's anything else we can help with, please let us know!
