1Password 7 Very Buggy on My Mac

I Was running Mac Version 6.8.8 on my Mac (High Sierra 10.13.5) without any problems. Upgraded to Version 7 from David Teare's email via the blog post. Then my Mac started freezing. After several restarts I could only get into 1Password using my master password on the very first time; subsequent tries didn't work. So I retrograded to Version 6.8.8 and all is well. Seems very buggy to me. I wonder if anyone else has had trouble but in any event, I think I'll wait until updates are posted before trying again.

How did you downgrade back? I see that my upgrade to 7.0.4 left a 1Pssword 6.app.zip folder in Applications; did you just unzip it and recover the files? What about Lib support files?

I have given some guidance in this post about reverting to 1Password 6.

I have complete nightly backups on several external drives (using Carbon Copy Cloner) so I simply deleted version 7 and copied version 6.8.8 into my primary drive's Applications folder. Voila, all is well.

  • Hey @DrJohninDC! It looks like Michael responded to your email about this, so let's keep the conversation going there for now.
