Can version 7 and version 6 share the same database on an ongoing basis

I have an older MAC desktop with Version 6 app that uses OSX 10.11 and can't run Version 7. I also use a MAC laptop that uses OSX 10.12 and I'd like to upgrade my Version 6 application on this machine to Version 7. I sync these computers using a local server due to poor internet access. If I upgrade the laptop to version 7, will I still be able to share the same database/keychain?

good question, I am curious to know the answer too (you may be a while getting an answer though, it's been 3 days since I posted a question and no reply yet, can't sync my 2nd vault in Dropbox)

  • Hi folks,

Both 1Password 6 and 1Password 7 support the OPVault sync format. Our recommendation would always be to run the latest versions of 1Password, macOS, and your browsers.

    Thanks.

    Ben
