Confused about upgrading to 7

Just got my 7 membership. Am installing it on other devices. Seems to be working.

I am confused, however, about where everything lives now. Some questions:

  1. Do I still need to keep my old DropBox stuff running?
  2. If not, can I erase the old agilebits stuff in DropBox?
  3. Where is 1Password data stored now?
  4. At one point, it asked me to put in the password for 1Password 6, which I did, and it seems to have incorporated the old data, but it also said something about a personal vault, which I can't remember now. Do I need to do anything about my personal vault?
  5. The process on https://support.1password.com/upgrade-mac/ and https://support.1password.com/sync-with-dropbox/#set-up-1password-to-sync-with-dropbox SEEM to indicate that I need to keep using DropBox, but it doesn't look like the old agilebits file on DropBox is getting updated when I add new info to 1Password. What am I missing? Also, the picture on that second help page does not look the same as what I see when I open my 1Password preferences. I see no SYNC item at the top, for example.

    Hi @owangolama! I’d be happy to help clear things up. If you signed up for a 1Password membership during the upgrade to 1Password 7, that will sync your data automatically now so you don't need Dropbox anymore. To make sure all your data is in the account, open https://start.1password.com/signin in a browser and sign in. You can find your Secret Key in 1Password for Mac if you need it. After signing in, compare the vaults there with the one you had in Dropbox before and make sure your passwords are in it. Then you can open your Dropbox folder on your Mac and move the old vault to the Trash.

    It's stored in your 1Password account on 1Password.com.

    Your Personal vault is in your 1Password account and replaced your Primary vault which was in Dropbox. All you need to know about it is that it's your default vault for saving new items in 1Password. :)

    Since you're using a 1Password membership now, you don't need to keep using Dropbox – the membership syncs everything for you, which is why the Sync tab isn't present in 1Password's preferences anymore.
