I see others have had this problem in the past, and now it's me.

I disabled anti-virus software and downloaded the add-on in a different browser, but I'm still getting this error message. What can I do?

1Password Version: 6.8.9
Extension Version: 4.7.1.90

Hi @pablitosan, welcome to the forum! We are happy to help.

Is this error only coming up when installing the extension via FireFox, or in Chrome and Safari as well?

    Try this in FireFox:

    1. Type this in the URL bar: about:addons.
    2. Find any 1Password add-ons in the list and click "Remove".
    3. Proceed to this site and download the latest FireFox add-on.

If you still get the error, please let me know.

I had this issue as well and it turned out that my Firefox app was really out of date (it wasn't my default browser) and that's what was causing the issue. When I updated Firefox to the current version, I was able to install the 1P extension with no problem. Hope this helps!

@cmata37 - yep, that'll often be the culprit. We recommend people stay as current as possible with not only 1Password itself, but also macOS and any browsers they use...but we understand sometimes (re)turning to a browser one hasn't used in a while and forgetting to update it. Thanks for the tip! :)
