Quick Password Generation Workflow

Is there a way to very quickly generate password when registering to a new website?
For example, right click on the tray icon -> Generate password?
Or directly using the browser plugin to generate a password from the input field?

At the moment the workflow takes a lot of clicking:

  • we need to unlock 1password
  • save a new login item
  • edit item
  • generate a password for the item
  • save
  • copy password from new item and paste it into browser

Would be happy to know if there is a better way :)

    Hi @deeeed ,

    Do you have the browser extension installed? If not, please choose Install 1Password Extensions… from the 1Password 7 menu and install the browser extension.

    Once that is installed, the workflow is this.
    1. Click on 1Password button in your browser's toolbar (or press ⌘⌥\ ).
    2. Click on the Password Generator, and click the Fill or Copy button.

    It will save that generated password, and fill it into the current web page (or copy to the clipboard if you clicked Copy) along with the current web page URL.
