Website won't load using Chrome helper app on MacOS 10.12

I have a new online credit card account whose entry web address is something like <retailmerchantname.com>. Upon entry, that automatically goes to a much more complex web address of the underlying bank where I can login. However, using either the entry web address or the resulting complex bank address in the login record, neither will go to the website when I select the login entry in the 1PW helper. I have to manually enter the entry web address, get taken to the complex bank address/login screen, then ask the 1PW helper app to fill in the login credentials, which it does just fine.

Is this a common problem? Anyway to fix it?

    Greetings @marklme,

    1Password's open-and-fill feature does rely on the ability to directly load the sign-in page. If a site makes this difficult for any reason this would impact 1Password.

    1. If you copy the URL for the sign-in page from the browser, quit the browser and try to visit the page directly after restarting your browser does the sign-in page load and display the sign-in fields?
    2. Can 1Password fill the page once it has loaded via the likes of ⌘\ ?
