Now that I have a membership must I install updates to my 1PW application? May I erase the app?

    While you can always use a web browser to access your account, the application is the best way to use it.

    And there is no reason not to install updates, since they are included in the membership.

    You will need your secret key as well as your Master Password to set up your account in the app. But (if you haven't printed out an Emergency Kit), you can recover the Secret Key once you have logged in using the browser.

    Hi there @MikeHaines

    As danco mentioned, you still need to have the app installed to use most of 1Password's functionality. That is, unless you choose to use 1Password X on either Chrome or Firefox, which is the full 1Password functionality contained entirely within your browser.

    As for updates, you should always install updates. 1Password is security software and, as such, should be kept on the most recent version possible. All updates are included in your membership so there is no reason not to update.
