1 pass is overwriting my paswords with what's in icloud rather than syncing correctly

I have 1pass 7.0.7 and osx 10.13.
Syncing was a problem in 6, but is so much worse in 7 :(
I have to use 1pass for work, so not thrilled about it right now

    Hi 230nanometers,

    There could be something stuck in iCloud. Try this.

    On your Mac with the latest data:

    1. Disable iCloud sync in 1Password > Preferences > Sync
    2. Reset your iCloud data in 1Password > Help > Troubleshooting > Reset iCloud Data
    3. Re-enable iCloud sync in 1Password > Preferences > Sync
