Just to clarify, it's only the 'notes' field of a 'Login' entry that I have issue with
at this point. In a previous note, I had inadvertently included 'secure note':whether it be 'notes' field of a 'Login' entry or a secure note.
The text field of 'secure notes' is working the way I like in 1Password7.
Without hitting Edit button. I can select any amount of text and copy it.
Also... I'm good with the markdown in 'secure notes'. That is, I do not
believe you would need to provide a plain text option. The markdown
widget in 'secure notes' works fine IMO.Any reason the same widget used in 'secure notes' cannot be used
in 'notes' field of a 'Login' entry?Thanks again for quick responses. Appreciate it.

@fraleypaul - no real technical reason, no -- we just haven't done it yet. It's on the to-do list - make notes fields of other categories function the same as Secure Notes with respect to Markdown formatting as well as text-selection ability. Thanks for adding your voice to this request. :)

Since upgrading to 1Password 7 I can't select and copy text from within a note attached to a password item any more. I can only copy the complete text of a note at once. I store all these stupid security questions/answers (like all my randomised mothers maiden names) in a note, etc.
This used to work just fine and was very useful. Why this has changed?

We hope to have this fixed up soon. I can't say exactly when, but we do have a fix that we're testing. :)

So it's been almost a month. I hit this bug several times a day, and it's very frustrating. I use my notes for security answers all the time.
I would gladly give up markdown for the ability to be able to select my notes again without editing.
How about having a toggle where users can either choose markdown or the old copying behavior?

We’re looking into a way to disable markdown as well, but that shouldn’t be necessary to select specific text within a note. As I mentioned above we are testing a fix, so fingers crossed. :+1:

@ChiliPalmer: You might also find it helpful though to create custom fields for security answers. Regardless of this particular notes issue, you'd still need to manually select partial text there. A custom field which contains only the text you need for an answer makes it easy to click to copy it quickly. Just a thought. :)

We have a number of improvements regarding markdown planned. This is one of them. I can’t promise those improvements will make it in the next update (it is likely many will not), but if all goes well they should be in the following one.

@fraleypaul - yep, that seems to be the general consensus. :) We've had it working in Beta for a while, but I'm glad to see our solution confirmed by all you folks. Onward and upward! :)
