I have multiple vaults etc and 1 password on a number of devices. I need to reinstall 1password on an older ipad but app store wont let me how do I get a previous version

Please try using the Purchases tab in the App Store app to locate and download 1Password. That said, we cannot recommend having unpatched operating systems, including iOS 10, connected to the internet.

Well, yes, in part, but I did also mention how you can download 1Password on an older device:
