1Password iMac user of 1Password 6 wants to use data on an iPad (iOS 11)
I have used 1Password on my desktop (iMac) since 1Password's inception... & I now want to also use my 1Password data on an iPad (running iOS 11).
How do I go about this task? Am I required to purchase the app, even though I already own a licence?
Please keep in mind, I am a complete novice when it comes to iOS!

@bree your 1Password for Mac licence covers your use of 1Password on your Mac. If you want to synchronise your 1Password data to an iOS device you need 1Password for iOS. That is free to download but things then become a little complicated.
If you have a 1Password.com subscription you can go ahead and synchronise your devices through 1Password.com with no further ado. Otherwise you need to consider the other sync options set out at the bottom of this AgileBits' page:
In that context you may wish to avail yourself of the 1Password for iOS app in-app purchase which enables the "Pro features"—which are explained here:

Thanks for info, Stephen! One further question:
Did you mean that the one-time "app in-app purchase which enables Pro features" would not require a subscription? That would be my preference, if so. I'd prefer to not have a subscription , yet still hang on to the convenience I am familiar with using 1Password on an iMac.
I'd very much prefer accessing 1Password on my iPad directly (i.e., not using iCloud or Dropbox), but if that is not possible, I'll have to use the synching option.0 -

Yes, that is correct. It's a one-off purchase.

If you want your 1Password Mac data on your iPad you have to get it there somehow. :) Unless you wish to re-type it all on the iPad you have to use some form of synchronisation. That means either the 1Password.com subscription service or one of the other synchronisation options (Dropbox, iCloud or Wi-Fi). The Wi-Fi option certainly keeps your data out of the Cloud (it's what I use) but it can be a little tricky. (For example, it's much better just to make the changes on one device—Mac or iPad—than on both, which can lead to conflicts.) However, it's worked perfectly well for me for very many years.

Thanks. But I don't see anywhere on the site to buy the "one-time "app-in-app" purchase (for my iPad)... just subscription options.
If you could send me a link to that option, I'd be grateful. :>)

@bree please see this knowledge base article, which explains how you get the pro features enabled in 1Password 7 for iOS without having a subscription:
