How to delete 1Passport 7
I ran into a problem with version 7 and decided to revert back to 6. Whenever I need to reboot my computer, version 7 comes up as the default and I can't delete it because the computer insists it is open. I don't have the password for version 7.
Any suggestions on how to delete the version I don't want?

Hi Charles,
To quit 1Password 7, open it and hold down Command-Option-Control-Q to quit completely. You can also hold down Option and click the 1Password icon in the menu bar.
What was the problem you ran into with version 7?

I apparently entered a new password when I tried the upgrade and didn't write it down.

@CharlesLewis - sounds like you may have created a 1password.com account; was that what you meant to do? Or were you planning to stick with 1Password in standalone mode? Either is fine (and I'd actually recommend the 1password.com account for numerous reasons), but you should definitely choose one or the other.
I wouldn't recommend staying on version 6 for any length of time as a permanent or indefinite solution, mostly because there's no real benefit to it, and over time, increasing downside. When we release a new version, the old one typically is retired to legacy status and receives no further development. So reverting to a previous version, while that's fine in the present, means that you'll be locking yourself into a version that's essentially frozen in time, so the more time that passes, the more likelihood of incompatibilities with newer hardware, versions of macOS and newer browser versions.
If you'd like to take another shot at version 7, make sure you quit 1Password 6 for Mac fully first, then open 1Password 7 for Mac. Click Help > Troubleshooting > Reset All 1Password Data. This will erase all the 1Password 7 for Mac data (but not version 6 data) and make it as if you've never used version 7 before. You'll get the new-user screen. From there, you can either go the standalone route or continue on with a 1password.com account. Which do you prefer?

Thanks for the info. I'll probably stay with 6 for the present, but I've saved these directions for future use.

I am also having trouble deleting 1Password 7. I can open it, take the steps suggested to quit. But then when I try to trash it, it says it's open!
