Fixed width font support in an item's notes

Hi!
A long time ago I could use a fixed-width font in the notes of an Item. Then, I couldn't. After that, during a beta of 1Password 7, I could again. using Markdown. Now, I just read that it was a bug, and that markdown is only supported in Secure Notes.
So, if markdown is not supported in the notes section of an item, is there a way to use a fixed-width font in the notes of an item?

    You can get fixed width as part of code sequences using back ticks, but that may not be what you are after.

    Can you let me know what had previously worked? We have very substantially tightened up HTML rendering. Indeed, we no longer use an HTML processor at all in the rendering of Secure Notes. This is for security, and so trying to pass HTML through the Markdown processor will no longer work.

    So I'm larger to blame for cutting off that way of controlling the formatting of notes. These means that you can only curse me out in the small number of styles explicitly defined in our subset of Markdown.
