Will enabling macOS Keychain clash with 1Password?

I wish to sync Messages through iCloud, but the option to do so doesn't appear in iMessages Preferences. Comments posted to Apple's Communities website suggest that macOS Keychain must be enabled for that option to appear. But I vaguely recall that Keychain affects, even prevents 1Password syncing through Dropbox. Please clarify.

    Enabling iCloud Keychain does not affect 1Password.
