I only have iPassword on my iPhone
Hi,
I have had 1Password for a long, long time but only on my iPhone.
I am running Version 7.1.1
I finally thought I should back up my passwords to my MacBook Pro which is running El Capitan 10.11.6
How do I do this? (Can't really figure it out from your website)
Can I buy the 1Password software for my Mac and install it and syn from my iPhone (to Mac) via iCloud?
Or
Do I have to sign up for an account with a monthly fee?
Await your advice.
regards Greg

Hi Greg ( @AussieSalesGuy )
I'd be happy to help point you in the right direction. I'll start by explaining the various options here:
- You could backup the data from 1Password for iOS to your MacBook Pro. This does not require having the 1Password for Mac software. You can read more about this option here: https://support.1password.com/backups/?ios#you-can-also-create-and-restore-backups-of-standalone-vaults
- You could sync your data to your Mac using 1Password for Mac in standalone mode. This would require a 1Password 7 for Mac license (purchased in the Mac app) and the use of a sync service: https://support.1password.com/sync-options/#advanced-sync-options
- If you sign up for a 1Password membership you get access to the latest versions of all of the 1Password apps for your compatible devices, automatic sync, and automatic backup.
I'd highly recommend option #3. You can read more about the benefits of membership here:
https://support.1password.com/why-membership/
If you choose to go that route instructions for migrating can be found here:
https://support.1password.com/migrate-1password-account/
I hope that helps.
Ben
