We are new to 1Password 7, We go to the vault and hit the plus sign and fill in the username and password. When we go to the website it will not fill in the username and password. If I go to a website and fill the username and password in yourself it will not save it when I go back to that website again.

1Password Version: 7.0.7
Extension Version: 4.7.2
OS Version: 10.13.6
Sync Type: iCloud

Welcome to the forum, @graham12! Sorry for the trouble. You can store a lot of different kinds of data in 1Password, not just Logins. You can store credit cards, bank accounts, identities -- all sorts of things. And, for all of those types of data EXCEPT Logins, clicking the plus button and typing in your information is the preferred (indeed, the ONLY) way to get your data into 1Password where it's safe.

Logins, however, function differently. There are many, many variations of login mechanism out there on the web, and no two sites are exactly identical. So for Logins, instead of clicking the plus button to create a record and manually typing in your username and password, it's recommended to visit the site in your browser, type your login credentials into the site's login page itself, and then (when you click "Login" or "Submit" or whatever) have 1Password save the data for you. That's what the 1Password browser extension is for. We've actually got a great guide for how to do this, and if you need to download/install browser extensions for one or more browsers, here’s the link to get them. Let us know if you have any questions.

I'd also suggest you delete any Login items you created manually via the plus button -- the reason they usually don't work when done that way is that, for example, the login page for Amazon isn't https://www.amazon.com, it's more like https://www.amazon.com/ap/signin?_encoding=UTF8&ignoreAuthState=1&openid.assoc_handle=usflex&openid.claimed_id=http%3A%2F%2Fspecs.openid.net%2Fauth%2F2.0%2Fidentifier_select&openid.identity=http%3A%2F%2Fspecs.openid.net%2Fauth%2F2.0%2Fidentifier_select&openid.mode=checkid_setup&openid.ns=http%3A%2F%2Fspecs.openid.net%2Fauth%2F2.0&openid.ns.pape=http%3A%2F%2Fspecs.openid.net%2Fextensions%2Fpape%2F1.0&openid.pape.max_auth_age=0&openid.return_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2F%3Fref_%3Dnav_signin&switch_account=

-- which is something I doubt you typed into your Login item. That's why we say: let 1Password do the work of recording the proper URL/fields, etc. :)
