Unable to fill passwords in Chrome / Samsung Internet / apps on Android 7.0

Version 7.0.3 works great on a OnePlus phone running Oreo (8.1). However, filling doesn't work at all on an Asus tablet running Nougat (7.0).

Steps to replicate:

  • in a browser (tested with Google Chrome and Samsung Internet), visit a login form (say https://discussions.agilebits.com/entry/signin)
  • 1Password will popup to offer to fill in the login information, thanks to the accessibility permission.
  • When tapping on the box, the page darkens and a new window appears to log into 1Passwords. After doing so, the login window disappears (so far, so good).

Issue:

  • However, this is where it stops. The page is still darkened, no other dialog show up, and the only option is to go back.
  • I tried to use the 1Password keyboard, which leads to the same empty darkened page.

I tried rebooting, changing the permissions on / off, no dice. No error message is showing up.

Any workaround?

The support team confirmed that this is a device-specific issue that they are aware of.

For anyone experiencing it, disabling lock on exit seems to do the trick until it's fixed.

Glad that Verde was able to offer a workaround while we investigate the issue. Cheers! :)
