Safari can't open the specified address

Hello, we have upgraded to the new 1password but its saying that Safari can't open the specified address. Safari can't open "onepassword4-extension://activate/safari" because macOS doesn't recognize internet addresses starting with "onepassword4-extension:"

    More info - extension is installed. when i try to use it i get that message

    usually you use the extension and it just opens a separate window that you put your one password master password into. instead this opens a safari window and tries to take you to a webpage. What's happening?

    If macOS is telling you it can't process an address of that type it generally means you don't have 1Password installed. The extension is present, but the native desktop app will need to be installed from https://1password.com/downloads
