Update confusion redux

in iOS

I have the App Store version 6.8.8 installed on my Mac (stand alone license). Will that work with the latest iOS version of 7.2? Also does it matter whether I am running iOS 11 or 12? I was going to upgrade to iOS 12 but not if it breaks important workflows.
Finally, is password generation still an option in iOS version 7.2? I thought I read on the forums that it was not available.

    Yes.

    7.2 for iOS only runs on iOS12, answer doesn't change if you're running 7.1.1 on iOS 11.

    Yes, nothing has changed here.
