Is there an alternative way (a fix vs. a workaround) to fill American Airlines other than this?

I see this workaround https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/95131/american-airlines-workaround-for-1password-7-1-for-mac-and-7-2-for-windows where you need to press Command / twice to fill the data on the American Airlines login page at https://www.aa.com/homePage.do

Is there a fix for this yet please?

Many thanks!

Geoff

  • Greetings @floridabrits,

At the moment that is still the best workaround. The issue will still be present in the next 1Password for Mac update as well as we're in the final preparations for Mojave. Hopefully we will have finally corrected it for one of the updates after that.

@littlebobbytables Is the correction you are working on a fix for all 3+ field logins? In addition to AA breaking for me, Hyatt/World of Hyatt login (which I swear I had working smoothly for a while) was just broken by the last update for Mojave.

What happened :'( it's just three inputs with three distinct names, isn't it?

    Hi @PasswordsHippo,

Can you remind me what the URL(s) for Hyatt are please as a while back I purged my test vault, otherwise I probably would have had an item from the last time I looked at this. Along with the URL can you confirm that you're running 1Password 7.1 for Mac or newer or 7.2 for Windows or newer just so I'm testing the same filling logic.

The issue isn't as general as all 3+ fields but American Airlines and Hyatt do seem to constantly elude us. I haven't looked at Hyatt recently though so it's worth returning and seeing what the current filling logic is doing there.

I had opened up a Hyatt thread awhile back (couldn't find it quickly) - use https://world.hyatt.com and it should be under the "Sign In" click top right. https://goldpassport.hyatt.com I think also redirects there.

Edit: found my old one https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/comment/408833#Comment_408833

@littlebobbytables it’s both hyatt.com and world.hyatt.com, the inputs oddly have different names between the two URLs last I checked but they’re still descriptive and unique.

Yeah, I have the latest updates pretty much always.

    Hello @PasswordsHippo,

So I just tried saving a Login item on both pages. The one saved on www.hyatt.com filled all three fields on the same page and the one saved on https://world.hyatt.com similarly filled the required three fields on that page. Due to the differences in the two pages though out of the box filling on either page with a single Login item requires a little work.

What I found though is I could fill all three fields on both pages using a single Login item after taking a look at the two pages and modifying one.

    1. Download this 1PIF (1Password Interchange Format) file to your Desktop.
    2. Import the item.
2.1 1Password for Mac: Drag the 1PIF files to the 1Password icon in the macOS dock to import into the current vault.
2.2 1Password for Windows: Select the menu option File > Import and follow the prompts, pointing it to the 1PIF file from 1.
    3. From the main 1Password window locate the imported item and enter edit mode.
    4. Click the View Saved Form Details button (1Password 7 for Mac) or Web form details button (1Password for Windows).
    5. Replace the placeholder values for the three fields with your real details.
    6. Note that the remember me checkbox is set to enabled. I've set it like this because while it's easy to change on the Mac (it shows a standard checkbox you can tick or untick) 1Password for Windows will need you to enter the checkmark as a character and that seems a bit much to ask. Deleting the checkbox will have 1Password ensure the box on the page is unticked when you fill.
    7. Save.

You should find that works for both pages and I've added both URLs as a convenience. This is only required if you routinely interact with both pages though and want a single Login item to work in both.
