How do I verify that a prompt to update 1Password is legitimate and not some phish, scam, or hack? There's nothing on the website that announces new updates.

    Hi viamedia,

    You can Command-Click on the update icon in your Dock and macOS will take you to the application in the Finder. In the case of 1Password, the updater application in contained inside the 1Password app bundle.

    As with any auto-update prompt, if you want to be extra cautious, you can dismiss the update prompt and then choose Check For Updates within the app itself.
