Is there a shortcut/method to quickly fill but not submit?
Hi,
Here's an example situation where my question applies: I'm changing my password on https://example.com/changepass.php and the page is asking for my existing password and a new password. Is there a way to bring up 1Password to fill the existing password field but not submit? I understand I can set submit options on a per-entry basis in 1Password, but that is not the behavior I want in the future. Perhaps a modifier key I can press with Cmd-\ to get this behavior as needed?
Often I'll have a need to fill in login forms but I do not want to submit at that very moment for xyz reason. The only information I can find online about this is https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/26553/open-and-fill-but-dont-submit-auto-submit-can-be-disabled-for-all-or-specific-items but this solution requires the user to go inside the 1Password app & making a permanent change, whereas I am looking for solution to quickly fill but not submit.
1Password Version: 7.1.2
Extension Version: 4.7.3.90
OS Version: macOS 10.13.6
Sync Type: Not Provided

Going forward (I am not quite sure what version, but I think in 1PW 7.2.1, which exists and can be downloaded direct from AgileBits, but does not seem to be available yet by automatic update) auto-submit is permanently disabled. This is due to a change by Apple that improves security.

Hello @mtab1,
danco is correct. It's not quite the solution you were looking for but submit after filling is being removed. Initially we've limited 1Password 7.2 to only Mojave users because it will require Safari 12. We know all Mojave users definitely have Safari 12 and we're just stalling for a little while in the hope that with a little time most people will have updated to Safari 12 even if they're sticking with (High) Sierra.
What you might find useful in these scenarios is 1Password's drag and drop. What little we have in the way of documentation is available at https://support.1password.com/explore/whats-new-mac/#fill-logins-in-apps but basically you can drag and drop a field from inside 1Password mini and it works in browsers even if it wasn't the original benefit we were intending. Could that help here?
