How do you STOP 1Password from defaulting to the strong password suggestion?

The recent update to 1Password 6 (and probably 7) and the Safari 12 extension results in 1Password DEFAULTING to a strong password on a new site. How do I disable that so I can simply type in my password?

1Password Version: 6.8.9
Extension Version: 4.7.3
OS Version: 10.13.6

  • @montylee,

That isn't 1Password. The only way to sever that suggestion would be to turn off AutoFill user names and passwords in Safari -> Preferences -> Passwords -> AutoFill user names and passwords.

Really? It's got the little key associated with 1Password. AutoFill for sites that I have an account for is convenient. Oh well, I'll play around with this some more. Sure thought it was 1Password. Thanks.

  • @montylee,

The key is in the username or password field on the page itself in Safari? Definitely not 1Password, maybe in the future, but at this point what you're seeing is iCloud Keychain's integration with Safari.
